Alexander Leads Huskies Over Kutztown

BLOOMSBURG-- Sam Alexander (Willow Grove/Upper Moreland) scored five goals to lead the Bloomsburg University lacrosse team to a 20-7 win over Kutztown on Thursday.

Kutztown opened the game by scoring the first two goals before the Huskies came roaring back with eight straight goals, including three straight from Alexander over a five-minute stretch.

With the Huskies leading 10-4 at halftime, Bloomsburg opened the second half by scoring the seven goals of the period with Cara McGroarty (Pottstown/Pottsgrove) scoring two of them. Alexander then finished out the scoring with a goal with six seconds left in the game.

In addition to Alexander's five goals, Brieann Wolfe (Perkasie/Pennridge) and Allie Kakareka (Royersford/Spring-Ford) both scored three times.

Bloomsburg goes to 5-1, 3-1 in the PSAC East, while Kutztown falls to 1-6, 0-4 in the PSAC East. The Huskies play at Edinboro on Saturday at 1 p.m.
